Nigel London FNARA

Nigel London has some thirty years experience in property and over 15 years experience in dealing with commercial recoveries and LPA Fixed Charge Receivership work. He is a registered Property Receiver and a Fellow member of NARA (FNARA).

Nigel has owned his own practice, Hunter Payne, in Greenwich, London and was a main board director of a major house builder. He has extensive experience in dealing with all types of commercial property as well as property investment work and both commercial and residential development. He now heads up Chart Property Receivership and Recoveries where he is Joint Receiver on some £60m of property throughout the UK acting for many different financial institutions.

Nigel is married with two grown daughters and enjoys a round of golf when pressures of work allow.


Derek Mason

Derek Mason

Derek started his commercial property life as an Associate Partner with London based Chartered Surveyors Smith Melzack. He was responsible for acquisition, sales, rent review and valuation work for their industrial and out of town retail clients.

In 1987 he established Mason Drage Chartered Surveyors, a firm that specialised in out of town retail acquisition for Office World and a wealth of other National clients throughout the UK. In addition to this he advised on radio base station sites for T-Mobile UK Limited as well as most of the nationally known telecoms operators. Derek was one of the first surveyors to see work opportunities in the emerging mobile telecoms business sector and together with the Telecoms operators, worked to develop and build their radio base station networks.

Peter Hayward - Associate

Peter Hayward – Associate

Peter joined Chart Property in 2009 as an associate, having previously worked for more than 25 years in the property industry.

Starting his career in residential estate agency in 1984, he soon became area sales manager for a North London Estate agency chain before moving to Fairview New Homes, a well respected London and Home Counties residential development company as a land buyer. Peter was promoted to director level in 2003 and in the years spent at Fairview has covered all aspects of new development and refurbishment. Today Peter use.s his extensive technical experience supporting the appointed Receivers on the technical and planning aspects of properties we are appointed on as well as general management, Maintenance programmes together with undertaking full due diligence appraisals and viability for our Banking Clients. Peter has experience on all types of property ranging from commercial and residential investment portfolios, development land, and often partially implemented residential and conversion development sites. He has made a very positive and valuable contribution enabling us to take forward difficult and complex development and refurbishment projects as well as dealing with such matters as health and safety and planning issues arising from residential buy to let portfolios and part completed development properties.


Christopher Cade – Major Retail and Development consultant

Christopher Cade – Major Retail and Development consultant

Chris has more than 35 years experience with property acquisitions and disposals as well as management and development in the UK and overseas. He was appointed a Director of a substantial property development and investment company in 1980 and was responsible for office and commercial developments in the London and the South of England. In 1989 he was appointed the Managing Director of Vestey Estates for whom he organised and lead a 4 year disposal programme involving the sale of, 1,000 former J H Dewhurst shops, central and out of town retail development sites, office investments, commercial properties and agricultural land. This programme realized £125 million.

Chris went on to become responsible for establishing and running a new company to develop a potential new residential neighbourhood in Venezuela in South America and spent the next 7 years there obtaining consent, installing infrastructure and constructing and selling the first phase.

Heather London – Finance Director

Heather London – Finance Director

Heather has worked in the property industry for some 20 years primarily dealing with day to day management, rent collection and accounting issues. She was a director of a large firm of commercial and residential estate agents responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of their property management portfolio. As a Director of Chart Property she oversees the financial reporting to clients and is able to offer a totally flexible service that fits in with their varied reporting regimes. Heather has the added advantage that she also understands property issues involved on receivership which gives her a clear insight on day to day matters with each appointment and allows her to deal with queries and concerns raised by both the borrowers and clients. Her extensive experience gives her a clear understanding of banking clients reporting process and their requirements for swift responses on the financial status of any account.


Nicki Broderick MRTPI, BA (Hons) - Planning Consultant

Nicki Broderick MRTPI, BA (Hons) – Planning Consultant

Nicki has been working in the Town Planning and Property Development Industry since 1987. In this time she has dealt with a wide spectrum of planning issues from simple changes of use, dealing with enforcement action and securing planning consent for small conversions through to major housing and mixed use developments.

Starting her career in Local Government as a planning enforcement officer she reached Head of Development Control before moving into the private sector in 2001 to head up an office in a prestigious Planning Consultancy Practice in the Thames Valley Area. A subsequent move led to three years experience working ‘in house’ for a major national house building company before setting up her own Practice, NMB Planning Ltd, as an Independent Planning Consultancy Practice in 2009. Today Nicki uses her extensive experience to successfully secure planning permissions for both residential and commercial schemes, together with achieving the optimum development potential of sites and advising on and resolving a comprehensive range of planning issues. Nikki has proven to be an invaluable member of Chart Property Receivership and Recoveries team.
